Wilderness Institute programs are designed to fully engage children and adults in exploring the natural world while encouraging their sense of wonder. We strive to inspire in students a deep appreciation for nature and in their own capabilities by providing hands-on Mindfulness Nature Immersion experiences with opportunities to stretch their "comfort zones" to feel more comfortable in the outdoors while developing life skills appropriate for their age group.

We plan, organize, and facilitate extraordinary adventure-based educational experiences. Our programs are also offered in a variety of locations including the Santa Monica Mountains NRA near Malibu, California. Our Mobile Rock Climbing Wall and activities can come to your facility or most any off-site meeting location.

As an Outdoor School, we introduce your students to ecological concepts and teach sustainability practices through hands-on activities which are both stimulating and challenging. We provide students instruction in outdoor skills, natural and cultural history, team-building, leadership and life skills.

Through the ongoing creative exploration, practical first-hand experiences, and natural play students deepen their understanding of the world around them. This instills a heartfelt relationship with nature and builds a foundation of respect and appreciation for nature and for each other.

Wilderness Institute Learning Discoveries (W.I.L.D.)
The WILD Homeschool Education Program is a series of outdoor experiential activity lessons designed to provide your homeschooled children with insightful and engaging learning opportunities. Students will meet new friends and build strong bonds of fellowship, gain increased confidence in their newfound outdoor skills and physical movement capabilities, and develop a deeper understanding and connection to the natural world in this engaging series of classes.

We introduce your children to ecological concepts and teach sustainability practices through hands-on activities that are both stimulating and challenging. Through the study of ecological principles, nature immersion, and natural play experiences, students deepen their understanding of the world around them. This discovery approach helps to build a stronger community instilling a heartfelt relationship with nature while building a foundation of respect and appreciation for the earth and each other.

Each activity class day is composed of 5-hours where students work in small teams doing hands-on lessons and spend focused time on areas of specific interest and skill development.

School-site Community Development
Reach Higher! is our school outreach program targeted at serving middle-school students at risk of the negative impacts from peer-bullying and loss of community. Highlighted by the use of Team Challenge and Mobile Rock Wall activities, the program focuses on building community or common-unity within the class and increasing students communication, problem solving, collaboration, and teamwork skills. Outcomes include deepened levels of trust, enhanced self-efficacy, and increased resilience among student participants resulting in reduced instances of "Bullying" and its negative consequences.
